
Cook for about 5 minutes or until thickened. Stir the slurry into the skillet mixture. In a small bowl or measuring cup combine the cold water with the cornstarch.Add the meat back in with the soy sauce and cover the skillet. Stir in the bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and chicken broth.Combine cornstarch and soy sauce until smooth stir into skillet and simmer for 10 minutes. In small bowl, mix broth, soy sauce and gingerroot pour over chicken. In slow cooker, place carrots, celery, onion, garlic and water chestnuts top with chicken.

Tender pieces of pork, celery, onions, mushrooms and water chestnuts served over rice. Chow mein is pretty low on calories and fat as compared to chop suey.
